New Year's RESOLVE

"But [as a teenager] Daniel resolved [in his heart] not to defile himself..." (Dan. 1:8). [As an old man], he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously (Dan. 6:10b)."

RESOLVE: determine, make up one's mind, decide firmly on a course of action.

        Many of us will make New Year's resolutions today; but  very few of us will truly resolve in our hearts, like Daniel, to stay the course.

What if...

          we resolved in our hearts to spend time with Jesus everyday in 2014 - talk to Him through prayer and listen to Him through the Bible: His Word - and then do whatever He tells us to do?

Then...

          2014 would be a phenomenal year! Trouble free? Of course not! Blessed? Yes, guaranteed! 

"How blessed is the man [or woman] who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers." (Psalm 1:1-3)
