Recreate Women's Conference 2015

"Abraham approached [the Lord] and said, 'Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked? Suppose You find 50 righteous people living there in the city - will You still sweep it away and not spare it for their sakes? Surely You wouldn't do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked'...And the Lord replied, 'If I find 50 righteous people in Sodom, I will spare the entire city for their sake.'" (Gen. 18:23-26 NLT)

You probably heard the story in Sunday school...

The noonday sun over an oak grove in Hebron felt hotter than sizzlin' grease in a frying pan, and Ole Abraham sat in the doorway of his tent mopping sweat from his brow. You can imagine his surprise when he looked up and spotted three men standing nearby.

"My Lord," he said, "Come sit for a spell and rest in the shade. Since You've honored Your servant with a visit, I'll get the wife to wash Your feet and cook some mighty fine vitals."

Abraham knew right off that once again he was in the presence of the LORD God Almighty Himself along with two of His strong angels.

Well, the celestial guests had good news and bad news. The good news - by the time they returned the next year, Abraham and Sarah would have a son! The bad news - because the flagrant, heinous, glaring sin of Sodom and Gomorrah had raised a stench all the way to high heaven, the visitors had come to check it out and annihilate the evil cities.

Abraham commenced to hagglin' on behalf of his nephew Lot's hometown, and the Lord in His mercy agreed to spare the cities if 10 righteous men were found. They weren't. The angels delivered Lot's family and fire and brimstone rained down on wicked Sodom and Gomorrah.

Last week, in one tiny corner of the increasingly sinful USA, around 7,000 women gathered at the Recreate Women's Conference to praise and worship Jesus, the Almighty God and Lord of Lords.

Beloved, there's hope for America. Keep praying. Keep clinging to  Jesus.
