My brother, Mark 1958
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)
My mama and daddy said that my brother, Mark, came into this world with an overactive imagination. Even as a little tot, they often found him jumping around a dark living room in the middle of the night on some great, imaginary adventure. In church, if he closed his eyes and started fidgeting, Mama would grab his hands and hold them still. "So people won't think there's something wrong with him," she'd say. One time, when Mark let out a blood-curdling scream, our folks rushed to see what was wrong. Mark said, "I was imagining opening the closet door and seeing monsters. One was so scary, I yelled."
In Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, he quotes the prophet Isaiah in saying that not even the most vivid imagination can envision the out-of-this-world, wonderful things God, in His infinite wisdom, has prepared for His children.
On this 4th day of 21 days of prayer, beloved, put your trust in the all-wise God, who loves you and is preparing you for all He has prepared for you.
