Dawn at Lake Monroe, Indiana
"God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns." (Psalm 46:5)
No matter how many times I teach or speak to an audience, I get nervous—every time. Last night, in anticipation of three speaking engagements today and tomorrow, I tossed and turned and prayed and sang praises to God for a good while before falling asleep.
This morning, I awoke in God's peace as His glory rose over Lake Monroe. The timely verse of the day read: "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13) Thank You, Lord Jesus, and thank you, dear friends and family, who are praying for me. One down. Two to go.
Feeling shaky, beloved brothers and sisters? Whatever is true, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praise-worthy, think on these things (Phil. 4:8). For you can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives you strength (Phil. 4:13). The One who calls you is faithful, and He will see that the work gets done (1 Thess. 5:24).
