Friendship

"May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. May God's love and the Holy Spirit's friendship be yours." (2 Corinthians 13:14)
5-year-old grandboy: "Memaw, can you come down here with me?"
Memaw: "Sure, buddy."
Through the trees and down the hill . . .
Memaw: "What did you want to show me, buddy?"
Pointing to his new friends and their mom, he said: "Her and them. There they are!"
Memaw: "Are these your friends?"
He nodded enthusiastically and grinned from ear to ear.
First Corinthians 1:9 tells us that God is the One who invited us into a wonderful friendship with His Son, even Christ our Lord. Have you accepted God's invitation, beloved?
What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer 1
1 WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS. Joseph M. Scriven, 1855.
