grandkids Easter 2010
"But as He came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, [Jesus] wept." (Luke 19:41)
Twice in Scripture Jesus wept. In John 11:35, Jesus wept when Lazarus died. The Greek word here for wept is "dakruo," meaning shed a tear. In Luke 19:41, when Jesus wept coming into Jerusalem before His crucifixion, the Greek word for wept is "klaio," meaning to sob or wail aloud.
Jesus bewailed, "How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, the peace is hidden from your eyes . . . because you did not recognize it when God visited you." (Luke 19:42-44)
Don't miss the only way to peace, beloved. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) |
