Enjoy the Journey

Have you ever been walking down the road
of life and suddenly realized that you’re dragging unnoticed chains of woes
along with you? We can become so accustom to carrying our burdens that their
weight and cumbersomeness seem normal.
God says, “It is for freedom that Christ set you free; therefore keep standing
firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1 NASB).
“Clothe yourself in your strength…Shake
yourself from the dust, rise up…Loose yourself from the chains around your
neck, O captive daughter of Zion” (Isaiah 52:1-2 NASB)!
“Lay
aside every encumbrance and sin which so easily entangles you, and run with
endurance the race that is set before you, fixing your eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB).
Let's bring our burdens to Him and enjoy the journey with Jesus!
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB).
Two chestnut-colored steeds drew our carriage up the steep mountainside. The mild afternoon air felt fresh, and a forest in full regalia adorned both sides of the winding trail. Sparrows, cardinals, and an occasional yellow finch darted from tree to tree while squirrels too numerous to count, scampered along the road. The beautiful scenery paired with pleasant conversation made me forget the problems I might later face.1
