Over the weekend, our three older grands wrapped and glued and taped and colored in preparation for Make Your Own Ball Day. This fun event began in Indiana September of 2012 with the mission to use a ball to help kids create, connect, give, appreciate, and play. Using plastic bags, string, duck tape, and the like, community kids make their own soccer balls, gather to play a bare-footed soccer match, and then donate hundreds of new, for-real soccer balls for less fortunate children around the world.
