L-R My granddaddy, brother Mark, and me Christmas 1958
"...Thank God for this gift, His gift. No language can praise it enough!" (1 Cor. 9:15 The Message)
DING!
DING!
DING!
DING! went my phone this Christmas Eve morning, beginning at 5:00 am. Every text read the same: CHRISTMAS EVE GIFT!
I believed my granddaddy started the Christmas Eve Gift tradition, but folklore claims it originated among poor farming families. The person saying "Christmas Eve Gift" first gets a small gift (traditionally candy or nuts).
Beloved, the greatest Gift ever given to mankind was Jesus. No language can praise God enough for Him!!
