Joyful

(Happy 13th Anniversary, Rebecca and Stephen)






"Come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to Him with thanksgiving.
 Let us sing psalms of praise to Him.
(Psalm 95:1-2)

Having prayed since she was two-years-old that God would NOT allow my Rebecca to marry any man but the one He had chosen for her, I rejoiced with joyful thanksgiving and praise to the LORD on April 3, 2004 when Rebecca Jill Glassco walked down the aisle of Valleydale Baptist Church into the arms of Stephen Martin Figert - her chosen-of-God ana duo, husband, companion in the work of the gospel.

In the gospel of Luke chapter 10, Jesus chose seventy-two disciples and sent them out by twos (ana duo) to minister in all the towns and villages He planned to visit. When the seventy-two returned, they joyfully reported, "Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!"

I've read this story a thousand times without noticing that as the disciples rejoiced, Jesus was also filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank You for revealing Your mysteries, power, and truth to My children."

You are God's chosen child, beloved, and sent out into the world to minister in Jesus' name. Finish the work God has assigned you and make His heart dance with joy!
