Last week, we finished The Westing Game (great-fun, can't-put-it-down read) and started Thank God for Boll Weevils by Alabama author Rhett Barbaree...

Chapter 1: Janie

"It was the year 1905 when Daddy Jack died. He was buried in December, right next to where Granny May had been resting for almost twelve years. Though I was but ten when he passed, his death was frozen into my mind by the same frosty winds that had hung icicles from our rooftop just the night before..."

One paragraph in, I told Phillip, "This man's a good writer," and after devouring several chapters, added, "and empowered by God."

In the Old Testament book of Exodus, God laid bare step-by-step plans for the Tabernacle and, by His Spirit, qualified men to do the work. He gave Bezalel great wisdom and made him a master craftsman expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze as well as engraving, mounting gem stones, and carving wood.

May the Lord enable you, beloved, to do the work He's set before you, and may He bless the work of your hands for His glory!
