Granddaddy and grandboy
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others above yourselves." (Philippians 2:3)
As a high-schooler, he wrestled a weight class 20 pounds below his normal size for "the good of the team."
Across 29 years with RMS, he has denied self glory and worked for "the good of the company."
Over his 40 years as a husband, 36 years as a dad, and 12 years as a granddaddy, he's put himself aside for "the good of the family."
That's my superman.
Beloved, don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. (The Message interpretation of Phil. 2:3)
