My beloved daddy and my eight-year-old Ben 1991
"No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening - it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. So take a grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong." (Hebrews 12:11-13)
When my Ben as a youngster karate kicked the screen out of his pawpaw's back door, my daddy said, "Come on, boy, your going to help me fix that door." Ben learned the lesson and never repeated that mistake.
Beloved, let us take seriously the loving discipline of Father God and cooperate in His character strength training. It truly is for our own good and His glory!
"For the LORD corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights." (Prov. 3:12)
