Lost!

This article is the headliner for
the “Robin Hood Review”, a newspaper our daughter created as a third grader in
Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1990. Yesterday, I searched my house high and low for
that paper, and I can’t find it! My treasure is LOST!
In
the Gospel of Luke, chapter 15, Jesus tells three stories about things that
were lost (a lost sheep, a lost coin, and lost son) but later found because
someone searched for that which they valued.
When
the lost son returned home, his father told the older brother, “We had to
celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to
live, and was lost and has been found” (Luke 15:32). In the same way, I tell
you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who
repents (Luke 15:10).
Jesus
Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to seek and to save that which was lost
(Luke 19:10).
For
God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life ( John 3:16).
If
you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
In
Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished on us (Eph. 1:7-8).
For
by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is
the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast (Eph. 2:78-9).
Are
you lost in a world of darkness? Turn to Jesus, the Light of the World. Be
found! Be saved!
