Make the Most of the Times

"Pay attention to how you live . . . making the most of the time. . . " (Ephesians 5:15)

Recently, a childhood friend found a card from the early 1950s for a trumpet music holder.

"Frank Nance" was scrolled on the top right corner. The music had belonged to my Uncle Frank in his Fort Payne High School Marching Band days. If you'll notice, on the top left above FANFARE No 1, it reads: 1st Cornet. In other words, Frank held the top spot among the trumpeters, making the most of those fun days.

In the New Testament book of Ephesians, God, through the Apostle Paul, gave specifically clear instructions on how to make the most of our time on earth. Paul wrote:

"Pay careful attention, to how you live — not as unwise people but as wise — making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don't be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. And don't get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit: speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ."

Beloved, what are you doing to make the most of these times?
