Walk with God!

My parents, my daughter, and my niece, Thanksgiving 1984

“Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good ways is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.”
(Jer. 6:16 NKJV)

         In these perilous times, walk with God. For terror crouches at the door, tempting us to live in fear with our heads stuck in the sands of anxiety like ostriches in the grasslands of Africa.
God warns mankind: “In the last days difficult times will come” (2 Tim 3:1); however, the people who know their God will display strength and take action (Dan. 11:32). And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time…everyone who is found written in the book (of life) will be rescued (Dan. 12:2).
 In the world, we have tribulation; in Jesus, we have peace (John 16:33a). Because greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), we take courage in the One who has overcome the world (John 16:33b).
God reassures His own: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isa. 41:10)
Again I say, “Walk with God!”

I’ll walk with God from this day on,
His helping hand I’ll lean upon;
This is my prayer, my humble plea,
May the Lord be ever with me.

There is no death, tho’ eyes grow dim,
There is no fear when I’m near to Him.
I’ll lean on Him forever
And He’ll forsake me never.

He will not fail me as long as my faith is strong,
Whatever road I may walk along.

I’ll walk with God, I’ll take His hand,
I’ll talk with God, He’ll understand;
I’ll pray to Him, each day to Him
And He’ll hear the words that I say.

His hand will guide my throne and rod,
And I’ll never walk alone while I walk with God.1
