Staying Connected

my oldest grandson, 2006
(Do you see the family resemblance between him and my Ben at age two posted yesterday?)

"May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent one from the other." (Gen. 31:49)

Back home from their two week vacation in Alabama, my daughter asked her kids, "What do you miss most?" Our oldest grandson answered, "Family!" and then burst into tears.

Because we live 500 miles apart, Rebecca initiated a build-a-story game a few years ago to help us stay connected. My second storybook, Secrets of Shiloh, actually grew from that unfinished narrative.

Who are you missing today? Ask the Lord for creative ways to stay connected.

"So let's do it... Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day [of Christ's return] approaching." (Heb.  10:24-25, The Message)
