Our boys, tall and small
Coosa River Farm

"...The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." (Job 1:21)

After a couple of trying weeks in our family, what a blessing it was to go down to the Coosa River farm last Saturday and just play in the dirt, and what a "coincidence" that last week's small group Bible lesson "just happened" to be a study from the book of Job.

In a trying season, beloved? Look to God and the Bible. They are good for the soul.

  • Who called Job to Satan's attention?  _______
  • Satan's attacks come only by God's ___________
  • God __________ Satan's attacks.
  • When disaster struck, Job _________ God.

2.  Read Job 2:1-10.
  • Is it ever right to be mad at God?  YES   NO
  • Why or why not? Anger at God implies that God has done something ___________, which is _________. God is __________ and is never _________. (Psalm 18:30)
  • Read John 16:33. Jesus warned that we will have ___________ in the world, but __________ us that He has overcome the world.
  • Read Romans 8:28. God can be trusted to weave ______ from every thread of _________.

3.  Are you in a season of loss, trial, or sorrow?
YES   NO

4.  Will you choose to trust God no matter what?
YES   NO    I WANT TO, BUT IT'S HARD.

5.  Fill in the blanks. 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "Each time He said, 'My __________ is all you need. My ________ works best in weakness.' So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through ____."

Answers: God, permission, limits, praised, NO, wrong, impossible, perfect, wrong, troubles, encouraged, good, sorrow, (personal answers), grace, power, me.
