A Love Song

>> Sunday, January 6, 2013

I just have to share the strangest, yet quite beautiful thing! Two nights ago, in my dreams, I kept reciting three lines of a poem that I hadn't thought about for years and years and years! (I think I memorized those lines in the 6th grade - back in the days of dinosaurs!).

"By the shores of Gitche Gumee,
By the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood the wigwam of Nokomis..."

I googled those lines and up popped "The Song of Hiawatha" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow - a very old, very long epic poem of heroics and romance. I asked, "What's up with that, Lord?!?"

This morning, through a devotional by Sarah Young (“40 Days with Jesus”), I understood God’s whisper in my spirit, "Jill, years ago, I sang you a Love Song. I infused meaning into your mind and harmony into your heart. Jill, join Me in singing My song. Together we will draw others out of darkness into My marvelous Light."

"The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying, 'I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving-kindness!'" (Jer. 31:3)

"The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you in His love, He will rejoice over you with singing!" (Zeph. 3:17)

Today, wherever you are around this globe, I pray that you will hear God's sweet Love Song for you!
