Norman Hyde (the praying mantis)

"There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth...Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength!" (1 Cor. 15:40,43 NLT)

In my children's book, A Chancellor Ferry Tale, Norman Hyde, a little praying mantis with only five legs, lives along Alabama's Coosa River during the Great Depression of the U.S. of A.. Yesterday, because of that book, my dear friend, Tammy, gave me an adorable, 6-legged praying mantis - Norman Hyde glorified!

Scripture teaches that "no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Cor. 2:9). "For we know that when this earthly tent we live in (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God Himself and not by human hands" (2 Cor. 5:1). "Our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies...This Scripture will be fulfilled:

Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?

For sin is the sting that results in death...But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless" (1 Cor. 15:43-58).
