my beloved brothers and me
1959

"God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God our love grows more perfect..." (1 John 4:16-17) "Let brotherly love continue." (Hebrews 13:1) "Be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing." (1 Peter 3:8-9)

Today's devotion by Turning Point Ministry, Dr. David Jeremiah:

According to Hebrews 13:1, we must live in brotherly love.  We're to love everyone with the love of Christ, but Hebrews 13:1-8 gives us five people we must love in particular.

  1. The stranger. "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels." (Hebrew 13:2)
  2. The prisoner. "Remember the prisoners as if chained with them." (Hebrew 13:3)
  3. Your spouse. "Marriage is honorable among all." (Hebrews 13:4)
  4. The Lord Himself. "Let your conduct be without covetousness...for He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you  nor forsake you.'" (Hebrews 13:5)
  5. The church worker, your pastor, or teacher. "Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct." (Hebrews 13:7)

Let's take Hebrews 13:1 seriously and let brotherly love continue.
