My Marine at Camp Pendleton

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according
 to Your Word. With all my heart I have sought You;
do not let me wander from Your commandments.”
(Psalm 119:9-10)

Thought for the day:

In these verses, God gives us the secret for living a pure life: obey His Word. Furthermore, impurity is often the result of a chain reaction: garbage taken in conceives garbage thoughts, which births garbage behavior. As the children’s song goes: be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, and be careful little feet where you go –and with whom you go because bad company corrupts good character (1 Cor. 15:33) and pulls you away from God.

Application:

1.     Read Psalm 101:3 and fill in the blanks: “I will set no ___________ thing before my __________.”
2.     Is there anything in your life right now that could be labeled “garbage
 intake” by God’s standards?    YES     NO
            3.    If YES, what? _________________________________________________
            4.    What actions do you take daily to keep from wandering away from God and
                   His commands? _______________________________________________

Your prayer for the day:  Lord Jesus, please _____________________________

My prayer for you today:

O Father, I pray in Jesus’ name that _____________ (your name) will keep himself/herself pure by living according to Your Word. Please help him/her, and do not let him/her wander away from You and Your commands. In Jesus’ name. Amen and Amen.
