A precious child reading The Schoolhouse

“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” (Deut. 6:5-7 NLT)

“Bible-time” just before our children’s bedtime was a nightly ritual in our home from the time they hatched until they flew the coop. Finding attention-holding material that helped them engage in those family devotions, however, was often challenging!
One good purpose behind my storybooks (The Schoolhouse and soon-to-be-released Secrets of Shiloh) and the “Reflections” pages at the end of each chapter is to provide fun tools for parents to teach their children about God, His Word, and His Ways.
I pray that the Lord will bless, enable, and equip you with creative means to tell your children the most wonderful story of all, the story of God’s love for them through His Son Jesus Christ!

Example “Reflections” page from Secrets of Shiloh:

POINTS to Ponder
1.  What did Rachel and Martin gain through their friendship with Col. James?
2.  Does God care who our friends are?    YES   NO
3.  Do your friends influence you to live life God’s way or the way of the  world?
4.  How can you encourage your friends to live God’s way?

PEARLS from God’s heart to yours
