As a child, I thought that after you died, if you belonged to Jesus, you lived in heaven forever. According to Scripture, believers in Jesus indeed go straight to heaven at death. Jesus told the thief dying on the cross beside Him, "I assure you, today you will be with Me in paradise." (Luke 23:43) However, the Bible also describes in detail Jesus and His believers returning to planet earth for 1,000 years.

"Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True...The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed Him on white horses...On His robe at His thigh was written this title: King of kings and Lord of all lords (Revelation 19:11-17). They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousands years (Revelation 20:4b)."

We are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do things He planned for us long ago (Eph. 2:10). 

Beloved, God has prepared good works for our todays and for our time after time!
