King for the day,
That's my grandboy

"Praise the name of God forever and ever, for He has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; He removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars." (Daniel 2:20-21 NLT)

Yesterday, I heard a presidential election discussion on talk-show radio basing outcome predictions on statistics and past voting patterns. The host and guests, however, failed to figure in the key factor: the sovereignty of God.

Daniel chapter one records that in the third year of King Johoiakim's reign in Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon besieged Jerusalem. Because the Babylonians were so powerful? No, because the LORD gave King Nebuchadnezzar victory over King Johoiakim.

So, if God is sovereign, should we pray about the presidential election? YES! Without ceasing, for God hears the cries of His people. Should we vote? Absolutely! God accomplishes His good purposes through His vessels of honor.

Beloved, pray! Vote! Trust Jesus, the sovereign King of kings!

"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)
