In Your Right Mind

The Phillip Glassco Family "crazy" shot
Christmas 2013

"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant..." (Phil. 2:3-5)

Yesterday, Phillip had a routine colonoscopy. He woke up from anesthesia clear-minded, alert, and ready to go. When I, on the other hand, had that dreaded test, I awoke coo-coo for cocoa puffs and asked the nurse, "Why would anybody go into this kind of business?" Hee-hee!

Throughout Scripture, God instructs His children to have a right mind - unselfish, humble, serving, and focused on Him.

Beloved, "do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable, and perfect." (Romans 12:2)

"For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace." (Romans 8:6)

"Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth." (Colossians 3:2)

"And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
