Illustrations from newly released Mr. Greenleaf's Unforgettable Summer
By my friend and talented artist, Dawn Copeland

"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." (1 Cor. 15:58 NLT)

In storybook making, month after long month, perhaps even years,  pass between the first stroke of the pen and a place on the bookshelf. Those in-between times can be disheartening, but the finish line, my friend, is well worth the marathon.

Beloved, are you in the midst of a difficult assignment? Be strong, don't give up, work hard, and know that your efforts for the Lord are not in vain!

Mr. Greenleaf's Unforgettable Summer
5-star review by Readers' Favorite:

Mr. Greenleaf's Unforgettable Summer by Jill Glassco is an adorable story for kids that has a good concept and conveys a worthy message to young readers. Mr. Greenleaf leads a peaceful existence in a tiny cave beside Mrs. Willowkin's flower garden by the goldfish pond. His home is cozy, quiet and comfortable. The peace is destroyed when a boisterous bullfrog, Caiaphas Croaker, invades the small pond. Mr. Greenleaf's life suddenly changes and his search for a new home takes him to spiritual heights that elevate his body, soul and spirit. The journey with Mr. Greenleaf as he goes searching for a new place is exciting and interesting.

The story is adorable and educational and will introduce kids to new ideas, thoughts, concepts and creatures. The black and white sketches complement the author's words and lend clarity, movement, and life to the story as well as the characters. The spiritual undertone in the story is educational and informative for kids, and reiterates Christian beliefs and teachings. It is a good book for bedtime storytelling for parents and grandparents, and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries.

Books with a moral, concept, idea, story and message are good for children when they are initially introduced to reading, as it helps make learning about new things simple and easier. It's a book worth owning in one's personal collection because of the beautiful message and the Christian beliefs it imparts to readers.
