Our family, 2015
(2 more grandboys added since)

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." (2 Chronicles 15:7)

A family challenge was issued at Christmastime:

For anyone needing/wanting to lose weight,
a reward for every pound lost,
OR
for anyone needing/wanting to get in shape,
a reward for every week of at least three-workouts,
by June beach trip.

Now that vacation time is drawing nigh, slackers are changing to fierce competitors.

Tonight, our Revelation Bible study closes with Chapter 22 where Jesus issues this challenge: "Look, I am coming soon, bringing My reward with Me to repay all people according to their deeds."

Paul described the reward ceremony in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15:

(The foundation of a believer's life is Jesus Christ, and the believer's works are the building materials on the foundation. Gold, silver, and precious jewels represent reward-worthy works; whereas, wood, hay, or straw represent futile, pointless works.)

On that judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value. If the work survives, the builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved but will enter those pearly gates empty handed and smellin' like smoke!

How's your gold-silver-and-precious jewel work coming along, beloved?  Remember Jesus' warning: "Keep watch! For you don't know the day or the hour of My return." (Matt. 25:13)
